What The F Is For Family Voice Actors Look Like In Real Life
1. Phil Hendrie - Jim Jeffords & Reid Harrison
Phil Hendrie portrays several characters on the show, including Reid Harrison - an aging television actor made as a caricature of Robert Blake - and another television personality, Jim Jeffords. Hendrie is certainly perfect for these roles due to his storied career in radio, having worked for various radio stations as both a disc jockey and a talk radio host.
Hendrie shot to radio stardom during the first Gulf War due to his satirical characters and his associated portrayal of those characters. A regular motif of his show was a parody interview of said character, of course with Hendrie playing both parts and then taking calls from incensed listeners who would argue with the character. While some callers were genuine, it became somewhat of a badge of honor to play along with the ruse and call into the show for many of his fans.
Hendrie would go on to have a pretty good career in voice acting for television, being a regular on King of the Hill and Futurama. He even has a bevy of live-action roles under his belt, including on Modern Family and Marc Maron's satirical self-titled show Maron, where Hendrie played a fictional caricature of himself.
