What Umbrella Academy's Cast Look Like In The Comics

Initially, we meet The Horror AKA Ben Hargreeves as a child who is capable of harnessing the monsters that live under his skin (and mostly manifest themselves as tentacles bursting out of his chest).

He's killed in mysterious (or at least unrevealed circumstances) but a statue appears of him in the Academy grounds, confirming he was a young adult when he died. He also appears in visions and is a member of the Academy after his death, appearing in a costume with a mask and cowl and complete with the whole underpants over tights look.

He looks not unlike a cross between Batman and The Phantom.

In The Show

When we see him as a child, we get a flash of his monstrous powers, in silhouette. As a (deceased adult, Ben (played by Justin H. Min) doesn't wear anything like a superhero costume, preferring instead to wear a hoodie and jacket combo.

We finally see his powers in the final episode, which are pretty close to the comics design.
