YOU Season 2 Review: 7 Ups & 4 Downs

YOU Season 2

It's common knowledge that even the best scripted narratives often require us to suspend our beliefs when we're watching them play out simply because anything can happen in film or television. It's supposed to make for a more enjoyable viewing experience simply because you're not wracking brains over why on earth she would go into the cellar in her underwear, damn it!

It's not real, and therefore, we shouldn't be asking logical questions. However, there are some times when you can't help but ask them and this, friends, is one of those times.

YOU relies on a lot in order to move its intricately-plotted narrative forward and, for the most part, it pulls it all off (something we'll look at in more detail later). However, there are a few too many times we're left asking the wrong kinds of questions.

How did Candace know where Forty and Love were going to be when they were out of the city? What was Love doing out in her car stalking Will when she was clearly drunk moments beforehand? And just how many times did Joe have to 'accidentally' cross paths with a supposed celebrity before he actually wanted to?

Yes, there were occasional moments throughout the 10-episode season that things didn't feel so natural, and while they assisted in ensuring that the rest of the season did feel that way, they also stuck out for the wrong reasons.
