Young Sheldon: 10 Big Bang Theory Inconsistencies

2. How To Win Friends And Influence People

Dale Carnegie’s self help classic How To Win Friends And Influence People has sold over 30 million copies making it one of the most successful books of all time. In The Big Bang Theory however, Dr Sheldon Cooper claims to have never heard of it.

That’s not so strange in and of itself. We all have blind spots after all. That was until Young Sheldon made Carnegie’s bestseller a central focus of an entire episode. The school librarian gives Sheldon a copy of the book, which he then uses to help, well, win friends and influence people. The results are, let’s say, mixed.

Of course most people don’t remember every book they read in school. But Sheldon Cooper isn’t most people. For a start, he has an eidetic memory. Is it really likely that he would completely forget a book after he not only read it but attempted to apply it’s teachings to his own life?
