10 UFC Fights To Watch In July
8. Alexandre Pantoja Vs. Deiveson Figueiredo - UFC 240
Rumours of the demise of the flyweight division have been greatly exaggerated. After all, we have a fantastic match between two of the 125lb division's most talented fighters on this card.
Deiveson Figueiredo might've lost in his last outing inside the Octagon, but he's proven previously that he's a serious threat within the weight class. Although his grappling is certainly nothing to sleep on, his most devastating weapon is definitely his striking. Just look at John Moraga's face after taking some hefty blows from the Brazilian Muay Thai expert.
This isn't going to be an easy fight for Figueiredo, as Pantoja is certainly no walk in the park. While he's not quite the striker that Figueiredo is, he does have some power. However, it's when the fight hits the ground when Pantoja comes alive.
He's exceptional at getting the back and is constantly looking for the choke. If Figueiredo can avoid the grappling exchanges then this could be a quick night for him. However, if he isn't on point, he could find himself in some very uncomfortable positions.
