Israel Adesanya and Jorge Masvidal will be donning the cover for EA Sports' UFC 4 video game.
The news was revealed in the official trailer for the game, which dropped prior to UFC 251 on 11 July, a card main evented by Masvidal unsuccessfully challenging Kamaru Usman for his UFC Welterweight Championship. Reigning Middleweight Champion Adesanya wasn't featured on the event, emanating from UFC's Fight Island in the United Arab Emirates.
UFC 4 will be released to the public on 14 August for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, with no current plans to release the game on the next-gen consoles upon their release. Nate McDonald, a developer for the game at EA Vancouver, had the following to say on the matter;
As far as the next-gen consoles are concerned, we’re really excited about that technology and what it’s going to bring to the industry. But our current goal as a team is to provide the best fighting game experience available to our players at launch in August on PS4 and Xbox One. We are exploring opportunities [for next-gen], but there is nothing to share right now.
As well as the return of Bruce Lee from UFC 3, those who pre-order the game will also gain access to boxing rivals Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.
EA UFC 4 comes just under two and a half years since its predecessor, UFC 3, launched in February 2018.
