1 Up & 6 Downs From AEW Rampage (March 29 - Results & Review)

5. Tell Us Something We Don’t Know

Toni Storm Mariah May
AEW

Toni Storm gave fans there live on Friday some "devastating news" by saying she wouldn't be able to wrestle as scheduled that evening. Erm...AEW had already run a graphic during the opener showing that Mariah May would be taking on the debuting Nikkita anyway. Excalibur and Tony Schiavone didn't say a thing about Toni being scheduled.

Uh oh. WCW vibes!

Folks down in Atlanta became notorious for the left hand not speaking to the right during WCW's dreariest days. In fact, the promotion was guilty of that sh*t even when it was slapping Vince McMahon's WWF about like jobbers. A disorganisation rumbled through the place. AEW echoed that on Rampage.

It was so odd to hear Toni apologise for something that had already been promoted. She worded her promo like a shocker, but the aforementioned announcement meant it fell uncharacteristically flat. This is something Tony Khan has to look out for. It isn't a favourable comparison to Dubya-C-Dubya.
