...was the amazing call these two got first time around. The palpable differences this time around were perfectly pitched. Full Gear went off the air with the worthiness of the earnest and excellent pro wrestling show it had been throughout the evening.

After a night of airtight finishes and up-and-down conclusively, Kenny Omega arrived to take a good look at the battle-worn Champion before giving him polite (and possibly patronising) applause and bidding him adieu.

The lack of any sort of added-on drama was what made this micro-moment. AEW continued to establish themselves as the promotion that will provide value for your money but ready you for next time with equal attentiveness. Violence here would have been wasted with a long way to go before Feburary 27th's Revolution card, and doing an enormous post-match angle every time creates expectation for more than a company should need to provided.

This was - like the bulk of the rest of the show - measured in it's content and delivery. Full Gear wasn't about aiming for total shock and awe, but satisfying paying customers and convincing them to do it four times a year. No small achievement, but one they made look easy.
