4. Dynamite Ratings Don’t Rise

The first episode of Dynamite aired on 2 October 2019 and hauled in 1.4 million viewers. Since then, ratings have fluctuated and hovered between the 700,000-1 million range. Is that respectable? Yes, absolutely, but Tony Khan surely wants to grow AEW's audience rather than see it stagnate.

Perhaps this entry should've been titled something like that instead: 'Dynamite's Audience Doesn't Grow'. Generally, the company has done a poor job of explaining why anyone channel hopping should care about some of the top stars on the roster. Kenny Omega has great matches, sure, but who is he as a character and why should casuals care about his promos/storylines?

There's a bit of a disconnect there.

All Elite has burned through a lot of content to stand pretty still ratings-wise. Even bigger names like CM Punk didn't produce the long-term growth Khan was surely looking for, so it'll be interesting to see what he tries next. Adding viewers should be an ongoing concern.
