FTR have been making some remarks in the media and in online posts that suggest they aren’t exactly thrilled with their current spot in AEW. Whether this is true or not, it is becoming unavoidable to not have Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler challenge for the AEW World Tag Team Championships at some point very soon.
The tandem has had a terrific year, holding the Ring of Honor, AAA, and IWGP Tag Titles and having classic matches against the likes of the Briscoes, Aussie Open, and the Young Bucks. However, Dax and Cash have not directly challenged for the AEW Tag Titles at all this year, despite being #1 contenders for several months.
It is to a degree understandable that AEW has decided not to have FTR fight for the belts just yet, as the rise of The Acclaimed has been one of the best things in the company this year. However, the inevitable feud between the two tandems has to happen eventually, even if it means turning one of the beloved duos heel to create a storyline incentive for that battle to occur.
