10 AEW Vs. Impact Matches That COULD Happen

5. Hikaru Shida Vs. Deonna Purrazzo

With a partnership between AEW and Impact Wrestling very much on the horizon, thoughts will obviously turn to the potential champion vs. champion matches. It makes a lot of sense, obviously, and the two promotion's respective women's champions are excellently matched.

Dissertations have been written about the problems faced by AEW's women's division, and such negativity no longer holds any weight. The division hasn't set the world alight but that has not been the fault of its champion. Hikaru Shida has been one of the breakout stars of AEW's first year and will continue to gain new fans with every passing match.

How WWE couldn't find anything to do with Deonna Purrazzo will never fail to baffle me. The Virtuoso has it all; ability, technique, looks and charisma. How could the world's largest wrestling promotion fail to see what is so obvious? Impact Wrestling hasn't made the same mistake, and Purrazzo is now in her second Knockouts Championship reign.

Shida and Purrazzo are exceedingly well-matched, not to mentioned well-versed in the intricate goings-on between the ropes. This could be the match that both women need at this point in their respective careers.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
