10 AEW Wrestlers Tony Khan Has Totally Wasted
8. Paul Wight
This writer looked on with wide eyes as everybody, from fans on Twitter to some industry critics, championed the signing of Paul Wight as game-changing stuff for AEW. It did create some short-term buzz, but claims from some quarters that the former Big Show was going to have killer matches were laughable.
Regardless, Wight should mean more to AEW than he does.
If anything, his only role of any merit has been teasing the eventual signing of one Christian Cage. Yep, one former WWE star lined up the announcement of another. Other than that, Show has done some announcing work and had four (frankly crap) squash matches.
Nobody's suggesting that Wight should be a weekly focal point, but his signing has been pointless. Hell, WWE squeezed more out of his legacy towards the end by casting him as a grizzled veteran Randy Orton gleefully disrespected.
The giant has been doing sod all since becoming All Elite.
