10 AEW Wrestlers Tony Khan Has Totally Wasted

9. Tony Nese

Hopes were high when ex-205 Live man Tony Nese appeared in the crowd on the 23 October 2021 edition of Dynamite. Company commentators hyped him up as "one of the hottest free agents in pro wrestling", which barely makes a lick of sense considering how little AEW has done since signing the dude.

Tony's most recent gig? Jobbing to Wardlow in less than 90 seconds on this week's episode of the flagship. Wow, that'll show WWE the error of their ways - bet Triple H is super-envious that Tony Khan gets to book Nese in squash matches instead of him, eh?

What a senseless waste of skills.

Nese's alliance with manager Mark Sterling has been dampened by the fact that Sterling was bumped from Jade Cargill's side too. In effect, he was a managerial cast-off, and alarm bells should've been ringing for Tony immediately. He's going nowhere in this promotion, man, and it's hard to watch.
