5. Interesting Elevator Rides
One of the plus sides of staying in the hotel where the NXT roster was also staying was a couple of random chance meetings with them. On my first night, I shared an elevator ride with Simon Gotch of The Vaudevillians. The elevator system in the hotel isn't the easiest to figure out, and he was struggling to get it to work (something I had experienced upon checking in as well). After pointing out how the ridiculous system worked, he thanked me as he departed for his floor, giving me the opportunity to mention I was a fan. He thanked me and jokingly apologised for swearing about the elevator a few moments before. Following NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn, I was then lucky enough to share a ride with Apollo Crews and Mojo Rawley. Both were in good spirits, talking about going out for pizza and maybe going to Cas's party. Mojo joked that his entourage was too big for that, and after accidentally running over my foot with his suitcase, Apollo asked if I was from the UK; he clearly has a good ear for accents! I've heard a lot of people complain about their interactions with WWE Superstars, but perhaps they're just going about them the wrong way! In the split second I spoke to Apollo as he got off the elevator, I was able to tell him that it was awesome seeing him in action, to which he graciously thanked me. Maybe just don't run up to them and shove a camera in their faces?
