10 Amazing Wrestling Matches You’ve Never Seen

9. Minoru Suzuki Vs. Kazuchika Okada

Suzuki Okada
NJPW

Suzuki and Okada have, during the many years they've both been part of the roster, put on several incredible matches in New Japan Pro Wrestling. The Wrestling Observer has doled out 4 stars or above no fewer than 10 times they've shared a ring together there.

However, one match between the two got roundly missed, purely because it didn't take place at an official NJPW event. The Minoru Suzuki 30th Anniversary Outdoor Festival Grand Festival Pirates (I think that's the full title, anyway) took place in June of 2018 and saw the two brawl in the rain for the better part of half an hour.

Partly as a result of the way it's filmed (and the cinematic accompaniment of the downpour) this is one of the most unique atmospheres in all of pro-wrestling. The crowd are so into it that it feels like an honest-to-god closing scene in some sort of monster movie, where Okada needs to defeat Suzuki, lest he stomp the entire city flat.

The only difference is the crowd really wants him to stomp the city.
