10 Amazing WWE WrestleMania 41 Stats, Facts & Figures

6. A Long Break

John Cena

The list of perennial WrestleMania main-eventers is pretty short and distinguished. Dozens of wrestlers have competed in the final match of the night at 'Mania, but only a handful get to close down the biggest show of the year repeatedly.

As previously noted, Roman Reigns owns and is expanding his record number of main events, but Roman has closed out WrestleManias consistently during the past decade. What about wrestlers who competed in a main event and then went years until their next main event?

John Cena tied the record this year by closing out WrestleMania 41, his first 'Mania main event since WrestleMania 29, a 12-year gap. The man he tied? Brock Lesnar, who ended WrestleMania 19 against Kurt Angle and then wrestled in the memorable finale to WrestleMania 31.

That’s a testament to longevity and drawing power – to be able to essentially step away from the spotlight at WWE’s biggest show of the year and then come back to the main event more than a decade later.
