10 Arguments WWE Fans Will Probably Never Stop Debating

8. Did The Rock Sell Out By Going To Hollywood?

No one in the history of sports entertainment has had their loyalty called into question as much as The Great One has in recent years. Once he took a few months to start filming The Mummy Returns, the seeds of dissent were already being planted in the brains of many fans.

And with each hiatus from the company - which seemed to stretch for longer and longer each time - the fans grew to resent the former People's Champion a little more.

The first time crowds let him have it in a major way was during his 2002 comeback. Chants of "sellout" and "Hollywood" rang through the arenas. That also kicked off one of the greatest heel turns of all time, though, which fans mostly enjoyed, so it worked out. That time.

Lately though, these accusations have rung out louder and more consistently than ever before, with The Rock's ultra brief returns calling into question whether or not Johnson is really a wrestler first and foremost. By now, most would say that's impossible, regardless of how many times he mentions his family heritage and what he did during the Attitude/Ruthless Aggression years.

Did he sell out, though? Or is this just a simple case of him moving on from one form of entertainment into another? Are we making too much of this? Or do his occasional returns to the spotlight - which often shift the attention away from younger talent - just rub salt into the wounds of diehard fans who consider his move to Hollywood a betrayal?
