10 Attitude Era Feuds Bret Hart Missed Out On

6. Chris Benoit

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8ebrk_zM4A Though they once faced off in WCW, their match was literally a filler to promote other rivalries going on at the time. It's a stunning indication of that company's ignorance that they couldn't see the dollar signs wrapped up in a potential rivalry between two men like Benoit and Hart. Benoit grew up a fan of Bret Hart, like so many of his generation. He even went to the legendary Hart wrestling school, going through their infamous training system with members of the Hart family themselves. Much like the story that could've been told had Hart feuded with Edge, it'd be a simple case of the student betraying the teacher, as Benoit had some of his finest moments as a ruthless bad guy. The tables could've even been turned to see Benoit giving Hart a few lessons in the ring himself; he's still heralded as one of the most talented men to ever step into the squared circle, despite the obvious tragedies of his final moments. Benoit even used Hart's signature move, the Sharpshooter, as part of his own moveset. Any match between the two could've had the iconic moment of Hart submitting to his own maneuver from a man who could rightfully then call it his own. Best of all, Hart would ACTUALLY be legitimately tapping out to the move, for once!
