On a card that contained matches such as Kane versus Snitsky, Muhammed Hassan versus Jerry Lawler, and Shelton Benjamin versus Maven (twice), an all-star main event was desperately needed to start the year the right way. Luckily, the Elimination Chamber match delivered as the multi-man cage match provided some excellent Evolution-related drama alongside some great in-ring work.

Triple H emerged victorious in a match also involving Batista, Randy Orton, Chris Jericho, and Edge, which may have been the best bit of business in an otherwise turgid couple of years for 'The Game' during his 'Reign of Terror.' Batista's growing animosity towards his mentor was obvious, whilst Orton attempted to defy his former Evolution stablemates for as long as he could before succumbing to the numbers game.

The match showed how the Elimination Chamber stipulation can be utilized to great effect when it is not a mandatory thing year after year with its own pay-per-view. Only the original match at Survivor Series 2002 may be a better representation of the stipulation, which has truly diminished as a concept in the years since.
