10 Awesome Matches On Awful WWE Shows

4. Shawn Michaels Vs Mankind (In Your House 10: Mind Games)

A lot of In Your House pay-per-views felt more like supplementary TV shows than special events, which Mind Games embodied despite a terrific effort between two of the best wrestlers of all time, Mick Foley and Shawn Michaels. Foley had recently debuted in WWE as the creepy Mankind character that attempted to throw the 'Heartbreak Kid' off his game through psychological warfare.

The match itself was as good as nearly any in WWE during the 1990s, as the promotion struggled commercially after the Golden Era ended and the New Generation Era floundered. The only disappointing aspect of the match was that it ended in disqualification after Vader interfered to attack Michaels, depriving fans of a clean finish to an otherwise great contest.

Just before the excellent main, The Undertaker and Goldust had a tragic 'Final Curtain' match, whilst Shawn Michaels' mentor Jose Lothario fought Jim Cornette on the undercard. Luckily for WWE, business would pick up for the company in the years after the event, with performers like Mankind and Shawn holding down the fort with some great wrestling in the meantime.
