10 Awesome UFC Fighters Who Went On Terrible Runs
4. Rashad Evans
When you start your MMA career with an unprecedented 13 straight victories, you may begin to believe that defeat is something that just happens to other people.
Unfortunately, Rashad Evans soon found out that everyone has the capacity to fall flat in the octagon.
At UFC 98, after stringing together eight wins and a draw in the company, Evans lost his newly claimed Light Heavyweight title to Lyoto Machida.
It happens. You can't be number one every night, after all.
However, this knockout defeat placed a seed of doubt in Evans' mind and - after an inconsistent run of fights over the next three years - he would eventually go on to rack up five straight defeats in his last batch of contests, before retiring in 2018.
Evans never fully lived up to the billing he had received upon his entry into Dana White's organization.
Nevertheless, with wins over the likes of Chael Sonnen, Chuck Liddell, Michael Bisping, Dan Henderson, Tito Ortiz and Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson, he still has enough moments to cherish in a patchy UFC career.
