10 Awesome WCW Moments You Forgot

First of all, who decided to book 'Macho Man' Randy Savage vs. LA Parka in the first place? WCW Nitro was great.

What seemed to be an innocuous match between the Macho Man and the Chairman of WCW eventually became another white-hot moment in the iconic feud between Savage and Diamond Dallas Page. Macho was making easy work of La Parka, dominating him from the get-go and seemingly sauntering to another Monday night victory. The masked man was down in the centre of the ring, Savage posing on the top rope. A scene we'd seen a thousand times, one ending expected.

That ending wasn't La Parka putting the boots up and then hitting Savage with a Diamond Cutter, that's for sure. It all made sense once Parka ripped off his mask to reveal DDP, setting off another magical Nitro pop in the process. One of the best feuds of 1997 was ramped up another level. The combination of shock value and excitement was just one of many reasons for WCW's success at the time.

More fool anyone who truly believed that a match between 'Macho Man' Randy Savage and LA Parke was ever going to be innocuous.
