10 Awesome Wrestling Moves That Nobody Ever Talks About

8. The Great Khali's Head Vice

From too much bloody danger to the well-crafted illusion of it, the thing about logical pro wrestling - the whole what-would-really-win-in-a-fight thing - is that it is profoundly boring.

And nobody really gives a toss about any of that, because it's not as if pirated RINGS footage has knackered the YouTube algorithm in the wake of All Elite Wrestling'a formation. Great pro wrestling is believable in its own context, or preposterously entertaining in defiance of it, but if you're that interested in watching a pro wrestler just do a move that would actually hurt if applied with shoot force, fire up the WWE Network and relive the halcyon days of...2006.

The Great Khali's vice grip was about all he could do, but he could do it convincingly, and the logic behind it was watertight, which made for a believable slack-jawed sideshow.

It was all in the selling, as most moves are; thrash around like an a**hole, and it looks comical, but make like Rey Mysterio, and it looks like the brain matter is seconds away from seeping out of the nostrils.
