The Miz and John Morrison are great wrestling heels, both counterbalancing their act to alternate between aggravating an audience (for their own heat) and entertaining with humour (often used to put over their opposing face). The duo have provided some of the best comedy moments in the ThunderDome – greatly appreciated on the current Raw product.

Further credit is due for their WrestleMania program. Many wrestling fans are dubious of celebrity involvement, but the villainous team (and Damien Priest) pulled off a surprisingly good match with rap megastar Bad Bunny.

Miz and Morrison are high-end trolls, without a live crowd it risks feeling as stilted as an online edgelord trying to troll in their local newspaper’s comment section using Titanic jokes. These skits and segment are where the fan deficit is most noticeable.

While similar segments worked backstage, Miz TV doesn’t have that same magic without a crowd to make their feelings about the expert heel known. And the fans, to their credit, lap up the sideshow in a way that makes ‘90s talks show crowds look tempered.

At the time of writing, The Miz is sidelined with an ACL injury, so fans may just have to wait a little longer.
