WWE 2K16 was a marked improvement on 2K15. The developers brought back many of the creation tools which are popular with players, and even the 'My Career' mode felt more well-rounded. The main '2K Showcase' feature centred around the career of Steve Austin. It was excellent to play many of the more crucial moments from such a historic career. As good as it was however, the Showcase mode did feel like a little bit of a retread in parts. WWE '13 had earlier featured an 'Attitude Era' mode, and the Austin one felt eerily similar at certain points. If 2K focus on World Championship Wrestling for WWE 2K17, that shouldn't be the case. A WCW mode would feel truly fresh by comparison to some previous Showcases. Imagine playing through the formation of the nWo, or defeating the tyrannical Hollywood Hogan as Bill Goldberg? There's so much scope for what could be achieved. It'd even be interesting to play through the latter years of the fading promotion, capping off with the WCW 'Invasion' of the then-WWF. This is something older fans would cherish, and it has to happen.
