10 Awesome WWE Returns RUINED By Awful Reactions
3. Sin Cara (Raw - October 2019)
Ugh. This was paiiinnnnful.
Sin Cara as a character in WWE has always been tough to get behind. A change in performers, a series of botches during matches, poor promo skills, and start / stop pushes meant that his character development was inconsistent.
After being on the injured list for a few months and then getting drafted to Raw after being on Smackdown for two years, Sin Cara made his return to Raw to start a program against Andrade.
When Sin Cara came out for the first time on a Raw set in almost three years, the response was, well, horrible. There was barely even a change in crowd noise, much less any kind of pop. Even as he made his way to the ring and did a flip over the ropes to land inside the squared circle, you could hear a pin drop (except for his music.)
It would appear that even the commentary team knew this would be a hard sell, as within a few seconds Michael Cole transitioned to commenting on community work Sin Cara was doing, which, while certainly worth noting, was not what you would expect the team or the cameras to focus on while a wrestler made his return.
Hard to watch without cringing.
