Feminists (along with anyone with eyes) look away now. This gimmick was arguably among the most cheap and tacky the world of professional wrestling has ever seen, which is really saying something.

In essence, the character - a thing for all of about a month in mid-2000 - was that of a man who was both attracted, and irresistible, to overweight women, a group of whom would accompany him to ringside during his matches.

What really rankles, apart from how terrible it all was, is that the gimmick was given to Mike Awesome of all people, a wrestler who had shown during his time with ECW that was well capable of being a genuine main event calibre star.

When you consider what he was made to endure after jumping ship to WWE the following year, you really start to feel sorry for the guy. Maybe if some of his backstage elders were obese too they wouldn't have been so completely blind to his obvious talent.
