It's amazing to think that John Cena has been booed out of buildings for over a decade despite being babyface, but it's important to remember that the vast majority of WWE fans called for his ascension to the top of the main event mountain long before it actually happened.

When Cena beat JBL at WrestleMania 21 to capture his first WWE Championship, the cheers were loud and seemed to suggest that WWE had found their new babyface sensation.

As they often do when handed something they want, some wrestling fans subsequently rebelled against it; this feeling that Cena was being shoved down everyone's throats swelled to the point where John was booed during his entrance, and things haven't moved on from there.

Cena's more saccharine approach to promos and presentation since the company went PG in 2008 could be blamed, but boos were ringing out long before WWE catered mainly to young children. As early as a summer 2005 feud opposite Chris Jericho, the once-adored Cena was vilified, treated with contempt by many who had once supported him.
