10 Bad-Ass WCW Gimmicks Wasted On Terrible Wrestlers

9. Tank Abbott

Taking someone who has success in the world of Mixed Martial Arts and bringing him to the world of pro wrestling is something we've seen on several occasions in the last two decades. With Tank Abbott, though, there was another level of buzz because he very well might be crazy. People could see him being successful with WCW, but they could also see him taking on the entire arena in a series of fist fights when something didn't go his way. Tank's highlight in WCW might very well be the event that nearly led to him being fired. During a match at the 2000 SuperBrawl pay-per-view with Big Al, both men tumbled to the outside. Tank pulled a knife out, put it to Al's throat, and yelled that he would kill him. Again, a reminder... this happened on live pay-per-view. When that's your highlight, you know things aren't going well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6tsAW8jGukY In another sign of just how poorly his time in WCW went, Vince Russo pitched the idea of making Tank the WCW World Champion. WCW's reaction? They fired Russo. Think about that for a moment. Think about all of the things you feel WCW should have fired Russo for, and then think about him wanting to make Tank Abbott the World Champion as being the proverbial nail in his coffin. Need I remind you that this is the man who made David Arquette the WCW Champion at one point?
