10 Bad WWE Matches From Great WrestleManias
1. Brock Lesnar Vs. Goldberg (WrestleMania XX)
This should have been a hoss battle for the ages, but good God... this match was s**t.
Both Brock Lesnar and Goldberg were finishing up their WWE runs after WrestleMania XX, and the fans knew it. So they decided to sabotage the match, chanting things like "you sold out" and thunderously booing both men. As a result, Brock and Goldberg decided that they just weren't going to try.
The two did literally nothing but pace around each other and occasionally lock up for the first five minutes of the match. The fans' jeers only got louder as the match dragged on at a snail's pace for nearly 14 minutes, which seemed interminable at the time. It's no exaggeration to say that this match consisted only of posturing, lock-ups, rest holds, clotheslines, and spamming finishing moves.
Not even special guest referee Stone Cold Steve Austin could salvage it, though the Rattlesnake did manage to eke out a couple of pops after delivering a pair of Stone Cold Stunners to both defectors.
Luckily, the two were able to redeem themselves at 'Mania 33, when they put on what was possibly the best sub-5-minute match in WWE history, but nothing can ever fully absolve them of this grade-A disaster.
