10 Beloved Inanimate Objects That Didn’t Survive Wrestling Feuds
1. Moppy
Stop me if you've heard this one: a wrestler goes crazy and begins palling around with an inanimate object on a wooden stick. Eventually, the pair becomes popular. Finally, a heel throws the prop into a wood chipper.
This time, the wrestler saddled with the unfortunate gimmick was Perry Saturn. After shooting on Mike Bell during a squash match, Saturn found himself on the receiving end of a stiff beating from The APA. Saturn took repeated blows to the head, so WWE decided to run with that as a gimmick.
He began exhibiting strange behaviour, unnerving his partner, Dean Malenko, and his girlfriend, Terri Runnels. Eventually, he ditched the pair in favor of Moppy, a mop with a paper face. Saturn and Moppy became an item, and when Saturn chose Moppy over Terri, she aligned herself with Raven.
Together, the two orchestrated a kidnapping of Moppy, and into the chipper it went.
Saturn's career took a turn for the worse without Moppy. He circled the bottom of the card, got hurt, and was soon released.
