10 Best Active Wrestlers Who Will Never Be World Champion

5. Jay Lethal

Jay Lethal has had an excellent career in professional wrestling. In Impact, he won the X-Division Championship six times, as well as enjoyed a single run with the Impact Tag Titles. His biggest success however would come in Ring of Honor where he would become a grand slam champion, which included two runs with the ROH World Championship, as well as the record for holding it for the most combined days.

The ROH World Championship would, indeed, qualify as a major strap, given the decorated names to pass through that promotion. In 2022, it doesn't hold the same prestige - and Lethal's hopes of adding another major reign are slim.

Jay Lethal is good, but he’s not quite young, and he’s never been “The Big Fish” in a big pond. His major success in Ring of Honor was, at least in part, due to being the biggest star in a smaller independent company long after its bigger names had departed. With Jay Lethal currently a part of the AEW roster it’s hard to imagine “The Franchise” as anything more than mid-card or tag champion. Which isn’t to say that Jay isn’t a valuable player, he certainly is! However, when talking about the World Title picture, it seems as though this is just out of reach for the talented veteran.

The Iron Sheik once said, "DON'T BE A F****** JABRONI!" That advice changed my life, as I am in fact now standing here as definitely not a jabroni. Thanks for reading my stuff! #HTX Matthew 11:28
