Chris Jericho has argued that he was the one who got the Fandango gimmick over after doing the honours for him at WrestleMania 29. But the real reason why Fandango enjoyed a few weeks of immense popularity was because of the post-WrestleMania crowd in 2013.

As soon as he made his entrance, the crowd chanted along with his addictive entrance music, and continued to hum the tune throughout the night.

It was nothing Fandango, Jericho or anyone else did that got him over; it was just the song and the audience wanting to have fun with it.

One could even assume that it was the crowd's way of ironically mocking the moniker by cheering for it, but whatever the reason, the song exploded onto the iTunes charts and became an overnight sensation, literally!

Mainstream sports had picked up on it and cheerleading teams posted videos of them doing the dance by sticking their fingers up in the air.

Similar to the aforementioned chants, WWE ruined its cool factor by shoving it down the fans' throats in the weeks that followed instead of allowing it to grow organically.

Not immediately turning Fandango face was a grave mistake as well.
