At Money In The Bank 2011, CM Punk walked into his hometown of Chicago to one of the biggest pops ever heard in wrestling as Killswitch Engage's electrifying 'This Fire Burns' blared through the speakers for a final time. The Chicago made man soaked up every second of it, whipping the crowd into such a frenzy, we genuinely believed there would be a riot if he lost. These cheers contrasting perfectly with the deafening boos that met John Cena with every piece of offence he dished out.
The match itself, some argue to be the greatest to ever grace a WWE ring, awarded 5 stars by Dave Meltzer, back when they were rare. As back and forth as they come, I don't think a single fan sat down for its entirety, the crowd desperate to see Punk's fist raised. The inclusion of Vince McMahon and the on screen debut of John Laurinitis only added to the drama of the whole affair and made it that much sweeter once CM Punk hit the GTS for the win, exploding the Chicago crowd.
Punk then proceeded to do exactly what he said he would do, creating one of the most iconic pictures in WWE history in the process. Punk jumped the barricade and gave Vince McMahon a swift kiss goodbye and then running out of the arena, out of the company, with its most prestigious prize.
