10 Best Debut WWE WrestleMania Performances
2. Ric Flair - WrestleMania 8
For years, "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair was the face of the NWA and WCW, WWF's biggest rivals.
However, owing to a dispute with the company's new President, Jim Herd, Flair did the unthinkable and jumped ship. The biggest name in WCW history was now working for Vince McMahon.
Debuting for the company in August of 1991, Flair took just five months to win the WWF Championship in his now-legendary Royal Rumble 1992 performance. A few months later and Flair was stepping into the ring at his first WrestleMania, defending his world title in a dream match against "Macho Man" Randy Savage.
The two icons waged war over the gold and the pride of Miss Elizabeth, with whom Flair professed to have had a prior relationship. The bout is fantastic to watch - a real 'Mania hidden gem - and ended with Flair putting over Savage and dropping the gold.
Flair's first run in the WWF shows what happens when you let a star from another company be a star in your company.
The Nature Boy was a bona fide box office draw and the WWF put him to excellent use by pitting him against one of their biggest and most capable stars.
Woo, indeed.
