10 Best Endings In WWE SummerSlam History
3. SummerSlam 2014
SummerSlam 2014 could be described as a pivotal moment for WWE in its recent history.
Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns established themselves as top singles guys with wins over Dean Ambrose and Randy Orton respectively and the night ended with one of the most remarkable main events of all time.
John Cena was defending his WWE Championship against the man who had snapped The Streak earlier that year - the unstoppable Brock Lesnar.
A part-timer like Lesnar winning the belt seemed impossible before the match. Surely WWE wouldn't put their top belt on a guy who wasn't going to defend it regularly...
Obviously nobody told Brock this.
Lesnar dominated Big Match John like nobody had ever seen before. He threw the champ around like he was made of pillows, giving him a now-famous 16 German Suplexes before ending Cena's 15th world title reign and beginning his 4th.
After years of Cena being on top, watching him get squashed in the main event of one of the biggest shows of the year was a huge breath of fresh air.
This was the end Cena's era of WWE and the beginning of Lesnar's. This wasn't so much a match as a force of nature and it was glorious to watch.
