10 Best Kurt Angle Matches Since He Left WWE

7. Angle Vs. Desmond Wolfe - Final Resolution 2009

Next to Samoa Joe, Desmond Wolfe may have been Kurt Angle’s best opponent in TNA. They only had a couple of matches against each other, but they were brilliant.

The two just seemed made for each other. Both were great technical wrestlers who liked to work stiff in the ring, and were able to match each other hold-for-hold in an impressive display of counters and reversals. It’s a bit of a shame that Wolfe was stuck in the mid-card after this feud, as the two could have battled off-an-on for years, and the world would have been a better place.

In their second pay-per-view match, it was the stipulation of Three Degrees of Pain. The first fall was decided by pinfall, the second by submission and the third was escaping the cage. After 26 minutes of great action, Angle barely won as he dropped from the top of the cage, as Wolfe desperately struggled to crawl his way out the door.

It was a dramatic finish, and a definitive ending to their brief, but tremendous feud.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
