Voted by the fans as the No. 1 Contender for the ECW Championship, extreme fan favourite Rob Van Da, got a shot at new ECW Champ Bobby Lashley on the first show of 2007. The all-babyface affair split the audience throughout, with some in support of the champ and others firmly behind the ECW stalwart.

The sheer mass of Lashley saw the bout develop into a strength vs. agility contest. As the veteran, RVD did a great job in carrying the musclebound champ, who was still only in his second year in WWE at the time. Lashley seemed dominant, Van Dam seemed dangerous - it was a great dynamic between champ and challenger. With Angle out of the equation, having left WWE several months earlier, Lashley did his best to fill the void of ECW's resident suplex specialist. Meanwhile, RVD pulled out all the stops to seal victory, including a huge diving clothesline from the second rope to the outside.

Sadly, the move resulted in referee stoppage - which did let the match down considerably and drew the ire of the fans with chants of "bulls**t" as a result.

Had the bout been given a legit conclusion, it would have likely been even higher on this list.
