4. Rob Van Dam Vs. Big Show - Ladder Match (24 October 2006)

Two months after RVD had wrestled Sabu on ECW in August, 'The Whole F'n Show' would once again find himself fighting under ladder match rules - this time against 'The Extreme Giant', The Big Show.

Despite Show being the ECW Champion at the time, the ladder match was bizarrely not for the title but, instead, for a title match contract. Nevertheless, the crowd were into it every step of the way. The action was thick and fast from the get-go.

RVD utilised his quickness to gain the upper hand on his larger opponent, incorporating the ladder into his existing arsenal and using his famous "educated feet" to deliver some stiff ladder shots to the giant. As a result, it didn't take long for Big Show to see red. The seven footer was also wearing the crimson mask within minutes.

Despite only lasting around ten minutes, Mr PPV pulled out all the stops in this one, delivering all of his greatest hits in pursuit of the contract. The match was a hard-hitting joyride between two athletes that genuinely cared about the brand they were representing.

Both men put their bodies on the line, and the ugly spill over the top for the finish summed up the match perfectly.
