10 Best NJPW Matches Of The Year

9. Okada Vs. Marufuji (King Of Pro-Wrestling)

Legend has it Marufuji's chops can be heard from space.

Every facet of the veteran's game was on display in this IWGP title match as he pulled out all the stops to try and take down the champion and go into the new year with the belt, and he nearly came out on top. Okada took an insane amount of punishment in this match but still managed to stay in it, proving himself to be a true champion. Though a Marufuji victory was unlikely we were all still on the edge of our seats.

The sheer number of kicks, knees, and chops that Okada endured (not to mention a piledriver on the apron) ensured that his comeback actually meant something, and it made for an exciting affair from start to finish.
