10 Best Options To Be WWE's Next Top Guy
7. Aleister Black
Here's where we get into dark horse territory. Or should I say Black horse?
No, no I shouldn't. The phrase is dark horse.
Aleister Black is not someone you would picture as the leading player of a brand, let alone be the face of a company. However, Triple H has never been afraid to think outside the box when it comes to his main players, and the former Tommy End certainly defies all conventional boxes. With his aggressive death metal theme, body riddled with tattoos, and vaguely supernatural abilities, Black immediately stood out in NXT at a time when the brand was sort of on auto-pilot and the most they had as far as characters was "hot free agent we just signed."
In the time since, Black has continued to be one of the more beloved babyfaces on NXT, even with the creative renaissance the show has had as of late. He has a unique moveset, his finisher is over, and people buy into the character and aesthetic. Like Ricochet, he neither looks nor moves like what your average person would expect of a pro wrestler.
But again, that would be his biggest hurdle when under the control of Vince McMahon, who will look at the thin, pale, tattooed former NXT champion and say "Gross." Still, if Vince is able to look past his biases and see how he connects to his audience, Aleister Black could possibly be so much more than the next Papa Shango.
