10 Best Performances From Number 1 In WWE Royal Rumble Match

9. CM Punk - 2014

Not only was Punk's appearance in the 2014 Rumble match impressive, it was also history-making.

Punk and Seth Rollins (who drew number two in this match) both put in impressive performances. They both lasted over forty-five minutes, with Punk clocking in an impressive time of 49 minutes and 11 seconds. This gives Punk the 19th longest time ever spent in a single Rumble match.

Punk clocked up three eliminations during his time in this match, one of whom was Kane. However, Kane - who was in his "corporate" phase - was to play a very pivotal part in the match, despite being eliminated.

Punk made it all the way to the final four of this bout, before Kane returned to ringside and pulled Punk over the top rope before Chokeslamming him through the announcer's table for good measure. Why it took him over half an hour to do this, we have no idea. Maybe he got lost.

This would be Punk's final in-ring appearance for WWE. The next day, Punk would infamously walk out on the company, never to be seen or heard from again. Well, until Fox drove a dump truck full of money up to his house.

That last part is purely speculation.
