2. Goldberg's Debut (2003)
WWE could have perhaps been forgiven for phoning it in on the post-WrestleMania edition of Raw in 2003. The previous night, after all, had been one of the best in the company's history, having offered up at least three matches worthy of winning a match of the year award.
But, as it turned out, they had one more ace up their sleeve. The recently acquired Goldberg, fresh off a two-year break from American wrestling following the demise of WCW in 2001, was at last ready to take his first steps in a Vince McMahon-owned ring.
Not just that, but waiting for him in it was The Rock, a man who was about to depart for a full-time career in Hollywood. We got to see two of the biggest stars of the Monday Night Wars go at it, a dream encounter worthy of headlining just about any show in the world.
While the remainder of Goldberg's WWE run may have been a disappointment, they got his debut absolutely spot on. After sharing an intense stare-down with The Great One, told simply him who was next, and then nailed him with a crippling Spear. Perfection.
