1. Ric Flair's Farewell (2008)
If there have been a more emotional three days in wrestling history than those between 29 and 31 March 2008 - wherein fans watched Ric Flair get inducted into the Hall of Fame, fight his last-ever WWE match, and then make his farewell appearance on Monday Night Raw - we must have missed them.
The latter of those, during which an emotional Nature Boy shared a tender moment with legends of the squared circle past and present, has to go down as one of the most poignant and touching moments the flagship show has ever witnessed.
For once, kayfabe was almost completely thrown out of the window. There was no wider purpose here in terms of selling tickets or driving up the ratings; the company simply decided to send off arguably the industry's greatest legend in the right way.
Even The Undertaker came down to the ring to pay tribute to him, the then-World Heavyweight Champion momentarily breaking character to pay his respects to a brilliant career in the ring. Tear-jerking moments in WWE are incredibly rare - but this was definitely one of them.
