10 Best Pound-For-Pound Fighters Currently In The UFC

2. Khabib Nurmagomedov

UFC 205: Nurmagomedov v Johnson
Jay Anderson/Cageside Press

Many have tried and many have failed.

The terrifying fact is, if Tony Ferguson becomes the latest loser at UFC 249, there's a very good chance that Khabib Nurmagomedov could retire with 30+ victories and no defeats. For an MMA star, that is downright absurd and pretty much unheard of.

Yet, if you've seen anything of Khabib throughout his indomitable run both inside and outside of the UFC, you'll know exactly why no fighter has been able to add an 'L' to his record as of writing.

It's well known at this stage that 'The Eagle' is a masterful grappler who can win a fight by basically squeezing all of the air and all of the energy out of your system. However, he's also able to throw some serious bombs - winning via KO and TKO vs. Thiago Tavares and Darrell Horcher, respectively - whilst also possessing a submission game capable of choking the life out of you or snapping whatever limb fits the situation at the time.

Khabib will go down as one of the greatest MMA stars in UFC history based on what he's already managed to achieve inside of a cage. If he adds Ferguson and another McGregor scalp to his resume, we may have to re-evaluate our number one spot...
