3. #DIY Vs The Revival
The Revival established themselves as the top heel tag team in NXT after they captured tag gold for the first time in 2015 and even more so when they defeated American Alpha to become the first ever two time NXT Tag Team Champions.
Following this victory, The Revival began a feud with #DIY, the ultra-popular tag team of Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa.
It seemed like Dash and Dawson had the better of #DIY when, at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn II, they used their unique brand of heel tactics to retain their championships, submitting Johnny Gargano in the process.
This could have been the end of #DIY - it looked for sure that Ciampa was going to turn on Gargano for costing them the match and the titles. Luckily, the two had a rematch in Toronto, this time in a two-out-of-three falls match.
This match was phenomenal, scooping WWE's "Match of the Year" award in 2016. Gargano and Ciampa locked in dual submissions on Dash and Dawson to force them both to tap out and the crowd went absolutely nuts.
Easily the best tag team feud in NXT's history, The Revival and #DIY tore the roof off of NXT arenas in 2016 and renewed a lot of people's faith in tag team wrestling.
