10 Best Simultaneous WWE Heavyweight Champions

8. Eddie Guerrero (WWE) & Chris Benoit (World) - 2004

Problematic to reflect on considering the cause and effect of their respective runs, Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit's shared WrestleMania moment was some of WWE's finest pathos before the decisions they'd made to fuel that exact obsession helped bring about the tragic demise of both.

To linger entirely on the wrestling for the sake of this entry, capturing the euphoric 'Show Of Shows' conclusion was shrewd from WWE - it was felt not just by the workhorses, but by every fan inside Madison Square Garden that night, and the millions watching around the world. It's almost a shame WWE were actually loyal to the brand extension at the time - a super team between the two whilst both holding gold would have been the sort of visual dream sequences fans of the pair couldn't have ever fathomed.

Instead, they both took on the roles required, with mixed results. Guerrero was better than he realised, requesting to be relieved of the gold due to mounting pressures he placed on himself. Benoit lasted slightly longer, though WWE wasn't transformed in his image during the run. Hindsight rendered the lack of that particular potential paradigm shift for the best.
