1. Batista vs. Shawn Michaels (One Night Stand 2008)
At WrestleMania 24, Shawn Michaels ended the illustrious career of Ric Flair when he defeated him in a one-on-match. This angered Batista, who was good friends with Flair in Evolution and felt that HBK was being selfish in retiring the living legend. This sparked a feud between the two, leading to a match at Backlash. In that bout, Michaels faked a knee injury that fooled special guest referee Chris Jericho, allowing HBK to capitalize and score the victory. At that point, things got much more personal with HBK and Batista. A rematch was scheduled to held at the One Night Stand pay-per-view, this time in a Stretcher match. These kind of matches can be exciting at times, but its the feuds that surround them that make them what they are. Batista vs. HBK was not only a great feud by itself but it also served as the processor for HBK's fantastic feud with Jericho. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ky2KsZ3268k Nevertheless, Michaels and Batista worked the best Stretcher match to date on that night. The emotion was at an all-time high and both of them pulled everything out of their arsenals to put the other away. Jericho even interfered at one point to talk some sense into Michaels, but to no avail. The Animal ultimately took out HBK once and for all by placing his limp body on the stretcher, avenging Flair's retirement in the process.
