10 Best Times Wrestlers Hit Their Finishers On The Fly
2. Randy Orton
When: WrestleMania 31.
'Mania 31 says otherwise.
In the baking California sun, Randy Orton and Seth Rollins pulled off a remarkable feat. They, aided by ambition to defy expectations, provided the show with a finish that'd be replayed for years to come. The pair also managed to have a good mid-match that should make today's fans yearn for the days when WrestleMania didn't need to be several weeks in length.
That ending though. Man, it was something else.
Rollins has gone on record in interviews since claiming that Randy wasn't sure they could pull it off. He was so worried that both men rehearsed the spot in-ring before doors opened. Even then, Orton was nervous that a major botch on an event so important could leave them looking foolish. Seth was unmoved. He knew it'd be special, and he was right.
His vertical leap was NBA-worthy, and Orton's ability to adjust on the fly (as ever) was spot on. This finish will go down forever in the annals of WrestleMania history as one of the greatest ever. It wasn't the first time Randy's RKO got people talking either.
