10 Best Times Wrestlers Hit Their Finishers On The Fly
1. Randy Orton
When: 12 July 2010 episode of Raw.
Mid-2010 (Nexus aside) was a pretty shoddy time to be a WWE fan. The company was in the midst of a struggle for identity; locked out from prior crutches like blood, profanity and scantily-clad models due to the PG certification, the writing team were toiling to provide fans with an electric weekly product. It all felt so tame at times, even when weapons were involved.
On the plus side, Evan Bourne was performing his Shooting Star Press into the jaws of a 'Viper'.
Following an otherwise standard TV match between Edge and Orton, Bourne ran out and got involved in the post-match scuffle. Then, something magical happened. Right as Evan rotated and came down for his finish, Randy leapt to his feet and caught him in the RKO. Cue bedlam, cue replays from multiple angles for several minutes.
This, by far, is Bourne's lasting legacy in WWE. It's a move he probably still gets asked about to this day, and it's one of the best "out of nowhere" finishers of all time.
